New Provisions for Accessing/Adding Updated Medical Information

Effective July, 2003, adopted persons, birth siblings, birth parents, medical providers, or any party with an interest in a specific adoption may update medical information to an adopted person's file. This information may be added when the information pertains to a medical emergency, medical diagnosis, or treatment.

When this documented information is received, the Georgia Adoption Reunion Registry will make reasonable efforts to contact the adult person (18 years or older), or the parents of the adult adopted person, to provide the recently update information.
